Flintshire-based housebuilder, Anwyl Homes, has appointed Nathan Mendoza, from Connah’s Quay, as an apprentice.
As a Trainee Civil Engineer with the multi-award-winning company, Nathan will learn first-hand all aspects of the role and what it entails.
Tasked with grasping a clear understanding of engineering, planning, design and construction associated with residential development, Nathan’s role will be varied and wide reaching.
The 17 year old, who was previously a part-time waiter, is looking forward to the fresh challenge ahead. He comments: “Joining Anwyl Homes is the start of what I hope is a very successful career as a Civil Engineer. The company has an excellent apprenticeship scheme, and a superb track record with many apprentices progressing through the company to Site Manager and Contract Manager roles.
“From hands on experience, training, a salary and the opportunity to gain qualifications while working, I will learn so much from this apprenticeship, so that one day, I will hopefully be able to help create, improve upon and sustain the built environment in which we live.”
Anwyl Homes’ Housing Managing Director, Mathew Anwyl, says: “We are very proud of our apprenticeship programme and have worked hard over the years to help individuals, like Nathan, forge successful careers in construction. With high demand for civil engineers in the industry, Nathan has chosen a route that will undoubtedly lead on to many exciting opportunities within the company. I would like to welcome Nathan to Anwyl Homes and wish him well.”
Away from work, Nathan plays football for Flint Town United FC. He recently joined the Club after playing academy level football for 10 years, and currently plays for the U21s Academy, competing and winning many competitions.
