Anwyl Homes has started work on a sustainable new house that will shape its future designs.
The gas-free property has been named “The Evergreen” and is being built at Anwyl’s The Fairways development, in Handforth, Cheshire.
It’s the first of its kind for the developer and will be built to meet the proposed Future Homes Standard, which will require new build homes to be future-proofed with low carbon heating and world-leading levels of energy efficiency. The standard will be introduced by 2025.
Phil Dolan, managing director for Anwyl Homes Cheshire and North Wales, said: “This project will provide vital information for our build and technical teams as we look towards the future of house building.
“It’s a big step towards us becoming a more sustainable developer and is a realistic look at what will be expected of the industry in the near future.
“It will function as a real home and be lived in by one of our customers.”
