The award winning Flintshire-based building company, Anwyl Group, has raised over £300 with a celebratory Coffee Morning event that was held at the Head Office on St David’s Park in Ewloe last Friday.
Taking place annually, the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising campaign, raising vital cash to provide medical, emotional, practical and financial support to those suffering with cancer.
More than 100 staff from both the Homes and Construction divisions took time out from their working day to come together and enjoy a cuppa and a cake for a great cause.
Delicious cakes were brought in by amateur bakers from all departments including a fabulous carrot cake donated by Jane Brooks in sales, delicious chocolate brownies from Kayley Williams in the buying department and a stunning chocolate home builders inspired cake made by Alison Jones in the technical department.
It didn’t take long for the cakes to sell and the cash to come rolling in. More than £200 was raised by the cake sale and a raffle held on the day for a chocolate fudge malteser cake donated by Hannah George in marketing made a whopping £105, raising a grand total of £326.48 for the charity.
Marketing manager at Anwyl Homes, Claire Anwyl, commented: “We’re excited to be getting involved with the Macmillan Coffee Morning for the first time this year and are delighted that so many employees from across both divisions have donated so generously for such a worthy cause.
“With almost all of us knowing someone who has been affected by cancer, Macmillan is an important charity that we can all identify with, and one that our amateur bakers were happy to don their aprons to support. We hope that our small contribution goes some way to help those suffering with cancer and provide advice and support for their friends and relatives too.”
