Assistant Management Accountant
Anwyl Group was founded in 1930 as a joinery and woodworking contractor based in North Wales. Since then, we have expanded and now operate three divisions: Anwyl Homes, Anwyl Construction and Anwyl Land located in St David’s Park, Ewloe.
We are seeking to employ an experienced Assistant Management Accountant for our fast growing Accounts Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analysing financial information for the Anwyl Homes Cheshire North Wales Division. Form a part of the accounts team to prepare and analyse financial information for all other companies which form part of Anwyl Group and perform tasks ensuring that all operations within finance and accounts department run smoothly and efficiently.
Hours: 8.30am- 5.15pm (Mon- Thurs)
8.30am- 4.00pm (Fri)
Salary: Depending on experience
Reporting to: Group Finance Director
Place of Work: Head Office in St David’s Park, Ewloe
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Divisional (Anwyl Homes Cheshire North Wales)
- Prepare monthly management accounts section for the division;
- Support Anwyl Homes Head of Finance with any financial information they require;
- Prepare and post cost of sales journals for plot completion as plots complete;
- Post plot income as plots complete;
- Check payments requested by divisions operational team and verify supporting documents following sign off process, enter electronic payments onto the bank ready for authorisation, ensuring the daily 3pm deadline is adhered to;
- Review and post salary cost for the division.
Accounts Department
- Daily bank reconciliations when necessary;
- Assist purchase ledger when required;
- Assist subcontractor ledger when required;
- Assist in preparation of company monthly management accounts;
- General accounting processes and duties;
In addition to the above:
- Regularly go through the post and manage nominal posts;
- Setting up new receivable accounts post receipt of reservation fees; set up new payable accounts;
- Generate a list of all completions and ensure that it is forwarded to relevant councils;
- Resolve all queries in respect to receivable account transactions, incl. raising sales and mileage invoices;
- Monitoring the House Sales Ledger Accounts – Deposits etc. Transfer values into plot accounts or into pending;
- Ensure you are aware of the financial deadlines the department and employees within the Anwyl Homes Cheshire North Wales Division are working to, to ensure that these
are achieved; - Any other duties as requested and required at times by the Group Finance Director and broader finance team.
Required Qualification:
- AAT Level 4 or other equivalent accountancy qualification
