Scope: The Civil Infrastructure Manager is responsible for providing expert technical monitoring and inspection of Adoptable development infrastructure Works (S278, S38 and S104 predominantly) being undertaken by the Roads & Sewers Contractor during the early stages of a project and overseeing the Contractors Works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications and thereby reduce the need for remedial works at the end of the project and contribute towards expeditious Adoption.
The post holder will be responsible for monitoring and inspection of infrastructure Works and Contractors across the Cheshire and North Wales region, during the early stages of a development when the appointed Roads & Sewers Contractor is acting as Principal Contractor.
Hours: 8.30am- 17.15pm (Mon- Thurs)
8.30am- 16.00pm (Fri)

Report to: Technical Director
Location: This role will be site based, but you will be expected to attend Head Office in Ewloe (North Wales) at least one day per week to attend meetings as appropriate, and provide updates, reports and escalations of technical issues on Site to the Technical Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Technical Depts. representative on Site and be the ‘eyes and ears’ of the Dept. during the early stages of roads and sewers installation.
- Perform general Site inspections on all live Sites to ensure Works are constructed in accordance with appropriate drawings and specifications and to Adoptable standards.
- Collaborate with the Technical Department in resolving technical issues or responding to queries from the Roads and Sewers Contractor.
- Monitor and record weekly progress and prepare technical memos, reports or weekly progress reports as required to report on the status of the Works and any issues identified.
- Monitor and report progress against the Pre-Commencement or Contractors programme.
- Assist the Commercial Department in assessing and reviewing Contractor variations and valuations.
- Monitor and record quality and workmanship to ensure compliance with approved technical drawings and specifications and to ensure the Works are constructed to recognised Adoptable standards.
- Where required, inform the Contractor of deficiencies and issue notices for improvement.
- Attend Contractor meetings, quarterly internal Project Review meetings and report on programme, cost and quality matters or other matters as required.
- Record changes/alterations on Site and assist with production of ‘as-built’ records where needed
